My baby won't let me get anything done around the house!?

My son who is 10 months old absolutely refuses to let me do anything without him having a meltdown. I spend most of my day with him and any time I try to go change laundry over or even go to the bathroom he throws a fit. I tell him to come with me and he does, but he cries the whole time :( Is this just a part of the age he's at?
