Would anyone on a mac or windows computer know that your on skype if your on invisible ?

I have homework to do so sometimes i go on skype as invisible so that my friends won't bombard me by trying to call me. I feel bad when I decline somebody so I go on invisible. Would anyone know that I'm on skype if I went on invisible ???
